I've ended up having 2 c-sections, and for the first day or so it's really hard to get up and change myself, my nurses end up doing that for me. I have to say though, even though the hospital gowns are ugly, too thin, and usually waaay to big for me, they are convenient. Mine usually have snaps on the shoulders, which makes breastfeeding much easier. And if they get dirty, I don't have to deal with them...
I think next time I'm making my own gowns. Something with a cute comfortable fabric with snaps on the shoulder. I have found free patterns online. I'll let you all know how it turns out (it might take a couple of years though... not planning on another baby for a little while longer).Camilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11575651439858373483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584863604663925807.post-72449377894223657982010-07-11T21:21:03.779-07:002010-07-11T21:21:03.779-07:00I still haven't figured out the whole pj's...I still haven't figured out the whole pj's thing even after 2 deliveries. Might as well do it right the first time around huh? :)Ana'deenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17644681323838079457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584863604663925807.post-47154497295973162402010-07-10T22:27:30.469-07:002010-07-10T22:27:30.469-07:00The list is great! I also already knew I was having a C-section, and that made easier picking what I would feel comfortable wearing there, and to leave. The first time around I didn't take any make-up,but the second time I did, and it totally makes you feel better. I also had my hair and nails done before going in, because like it was said, you really don't have a lot of down time those first few weeks!Jenny Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03379773254051068864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584863604663925807.post-40573538764177624302010-07-10T13:05:52.887-07:002010-07-10T13:05:52.887-07:00There's one thing I would for sure do differen...There's one thing I would for sure do differently next time is to take some loose pajamas! I took some cute pajamas, but they were all super tight with that kind of fabric that stretches and marks everything. NOT GOOD. First of all it's NOT comfortable and second of all, right after you have a baby the baby bump is STILL there even though you're not preggo anymore.
I also took flip flops and liked it very much. I took some slippers but never even used it. Something I took but didn't wear was a robe, it was a very thin light one which I shoul've wore because it was so comfy. Anyway, I totally agree with everything you wrote, I had a c-section and the day after I had the baby I washed my hair, used a blow dryer and a straighting iron..hehe..And before I went to the hospital I went to the hairdresser to do my nails and hair. Okay, some of you probably won't have time to do that but if you do...Please do! Because after you have the baby there will be very little time for pampering.Aline Carsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02636637578826673712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-584863604663925807.post-83838870813324861352010-07-09T13:11:56.024-07:002010-07-09T13:11:56.024-07:00there are several things I wil do different this t...there are several things I wil do different this time around when I deliver my next baby. I didn't take too many things with me when I delivered my girls but I did learn a few things.

Totally agree on the pijamas: those gowns are super thin, you can see through. I'm bringing my own next time.

slippers: I'm opting out of these and going for flip flops instead regardless of the season. Here's the reason: I took my super comfy memory foam slippers and during one of the times I got up to go potty (while in labor) I started leaking amniotic fluid and it got on them. I didn't like that and the slippers became history after that, they went in the trash.

I liked your list, and totally agree on the keep it simple. If something is forgotten, you can have someone get it later, not a big deal.Patyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09749011420422322253noreply@blogger.com
